An Introduction to Qi-Gong and Soothing Sound bath.

Friday evenings are made for slowing down, join me for a beautiful evening combining the gentle flowing practice of Qi-Gong followed with a deeply soothing sound bath.

On the first Friday of every month, we invite you to root, to ground, to slow down. A regular pause in the calendar before another month runs away with you, just one evening to make time for your wellbeing.

We will begin with an introduction to the practice of Qi-Gong, exploring simple movements, breath and mindful awareness to help release tension, calm the chatter of the mind and reconnect with your body.

Then its time to get comfortable, lay down close your eyes and simply receive the sounds and vibrations of the Himalayan Bowls, Crystal bowls, Chimes and Ocean Drum.

No previous Qi-Gong experience is required, this evening is for everyone, a chance to put down the week, quieten your mind, and create some space for yourself.

Join Amanda for a beautifully curated Himalayan Sanctuary, held at this special time of Diwali - the festival of light.

Diwali invites us to honour the movement from darkness into light, from obscurity into clarity, and to remember the inner light that remains present within us.

This mini late afternoon to evening retreat inspired by Diwali and the ancient yogic traditions that have flowed from the majestic Himalayas for thousands of years.

Amanda’s training is deeply rooted in the foothills of the Himalayas, where she has lived within ashram life and immersed herself in the traditional practices and teachings of yoga.

The wisdom of yoga has been carried through generations and passed from teacher to student through the teachings of the sages and rishis, sacred texts, mantra and meditation.

During this special retreat we will draw upon that timeless wisdom and create space to reconnect, restore and return to ourselves.

You will arrive at the beautiful space that is Love Yoga Leeds to a warm welcome and hot tea. We then open the retreat with Puja, sacred mantra and blessings honouring the elements and acknowledging the sacred within and around us.

From here we move into meditation and the setting of sankalpa, a sacred inner resolve or intention. Opening into an all levels Hatha yoga practice infused with pranayama and mantra.

A tea and cake break, we soften into Yin and restorative yoga, our journey on the mat will close by surrendering to the healing vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls, and sacred sounds, creating deep relaxation.

Our retreat will end with a two course plant based dinner, where we nourish the body with wonderful food and nourish our souls with table chat and laughter.

As December arrives and the chaos that is Christmas makes the pace of life quicker, why don’t you take an evening to pause.

Step into the calming space that is Wellnest, Kirkstall based at Chantry House a former church building with its curved ceiling and beautiful stained glass windows.

The space will be softly lit by candlelight, giving you permission to slow down with a deeply nourishing Yin practice led by the fabulous Kirsty Williams.

Yin Yoga is a slow, restorative practice where poses are held for longer, often supported by bolsters and props, so you can breathe into the pose and allow the body to release and soften.

Tea and snacks will follow RetreatMe style, then settle into complete relaxation as you are immersed in a soothing sound bath, soaking up the sounds and vibrations of Himalayan bowls, crystal singing bowls, chimes and ocean drum.

Time away from the Christmas rush, a chance to release tension and calm the chatter of the mind.

Come as you are and hopefully leave lighter with a Winter’s glow.
